Dr. Syed Azhar Ali Kazmi is an accomplished psychiatrist and academic leader, currently serving as Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Poonch Medical College / CMH Rawalakot. He is an Associate Professor with a strong commitment to advancing mental health education, research, and clinical services in the region.

Dr. Kazmi earned his MBBS from Bolan Medical College, Quetta, and went on to complete his Fellowship in Psychiatry (FCPS) from the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP). His expertise covers a wide range of psychiatric disorders, with a focus on evidence-based treatment approaches and improving community mental health awareness.

In his academic and clinical role, Dr. Kazmi oversees undergraduate psychiatry education, mentors young doctors, and leads initiatives to integrate modern psychiatric practices into patient care. He has been actively involved in designing mental health programs, conducting research on psychiatric disorders, and promoting multidisciplinary approaches to mental well-being.

Through his leadership, the Department of Psychiatry at Poonch Medical College / CMH Rawalakot has strengthened its teaching framework, research output, and clinical outreach, contributing significantly to the improvement of psychiatric care in Azad Jammu & Kashmir and beyond.
